Explore Straight from Your Door

One of the special things about staying here is being able to step outside your cave house and walk straight into the beautiful landscapes of the Sierra de la Pila.

You don’t need to be an experienced hiker to enjoy the area. There are several easy walks close to the cave, perfect for a relaxing morning or afternoon surrounded by mountains, countryside and wonderful views.

If you’re feeling more adventurous, follow one of the spectacular circular routes deeper into the Sierra. Discover dramatic mountain scenery, hidden caves once inhabited by monks, peaceful picnic areas and wonderfully remote places where you can stop, take in the views and enjoy the silence.

For those who really want to explore, pack a picnic and spend the day discovering the wilder parts of the Sierra de la Pila.

Walking maps are available for our guests, and GPS watches loaded with local routes are also available to hire. For longer hikes, we recommend using one of our GPS watches or bringing your own GPS device.

Whether it’s a gentle sunset walk, a morning exploring the countryside or a full day’s adventure in the mountains, you can leave the car behind — your adventure starts right outside the cave.

Explore the Sierra by Bike

Discover the surrounding countryside on two wheels, with four bikes available to hire directly from the property.

For a relaxed ride, we have two easy-to-ride bikes that are ideal for exploring the quiet country roads and visiting some of the small traditional villages scattered throughout the area. Stop for a coffee, enjoy the scenery and experience a little of rural Spanish life along the way.

For those looking for more adventure, we also have two electric mountain bikes available to hire. The e-bikes make exploring the Sierra de la Pila surprisingly easy, allowing you to tackle the mountain tracks, climb towards the highest parts of the Sierra and discover some of the more remote areas without needing to be an experienced cyclist.

With a full charge, there is plenty of range to explore the Sierra and visit several of the surrounding villages before returning to the cave.

Whether you fancy a gentle ride through the countryside or an e-bike adventure into the mountains, you can simply leave from the property and start exploring.
